Liverpool fans hit out at owners for possibel leave of Salah

Furious Liverpool supporters have branded the club's owners 'shameful' and 'unforgivable' after Mohamed Salah revealed he has not been approached for a new contract.

The Egyptian is a legend at Anfield and has been one of the best players in the world for the past seven years at the club. He played an integral role in winning the Premier League and Champions League, along with several other major honours.

Salah has started well this season under new manager Arne Slot, scoring 12 goals in 18 games in all competitions, but has left his future on Merseyside up in the air.

Liverpool came from behind to claim a 3-2 win over Southampton on Sunday and extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points, with Salah the hero on the south coast.

The 32-year-old scored twice with his 83rd minute penalty to win the match at the death, sending traveling Liverpool fans into raptures, with Salah revealing after the match that he could leave the club at the end of the season.

Salah's existing contract expires next year and the forward is yet to extend the terms of his contract, which expires in June, and wants to resolve his future as quickly as possible.

Liverpool's owners Fenway Sports Group have remained silent on extending Salah's stay at the club and are now facing fierce criticism from supporters following the star striker's revelation.

After Sunday's victory, Salah said: 'We are almost in December and I have not received any offers to stay at the club yet. I'm probably outside more than inside.

'You know I've been at the club for years. There is no club like this. But ultimately it's out of my hands. Like I said, it's December and I haven't received anything about my future yet.

'I love the fans. The fans love me. Ultimately it is not in my hands, nor in the hands of the fans.'

In response to Salah's announcement, Liverpool fans took to social media to voice their criticism, with one supporter criticizing the club, saying: 'We are in the position where Mo Salah, arguably our greatest ever player and the best in the world at the moment, his contract expires in seven months and has to talk to the media about how disappointed he is. If he doesn't renew it will be completely inexcusable.”

Another added: “If we don't give Mohamed Salah what he wants, we must do everything possible to boycott the owners and drive them out. This is the biggest mistake FSG can ever make.”

More angry fans joined the debate, calling on FSG to sell the club to new owners, adding: 'Run it. FSGOut. Never support the managers when they need it most, never want to keep the best of the best players, always come up with an excuse for the nonsense they apply over this club.

'Embarrassing, enough is enough. Liverpool FC has outgrown FSG, go away.”

Should Liverpool and Salah fail to reach a solution, European clubs could agree a contract with the winger in January ahead of a free summer transfer.

A host of top European clubs are likely to be interested in the prolific goalscorer and some Liverpool supporters believe his future is a matter of money, with one reporting adding: 'The best player in the league will be able to sign a pre-contract with another player . team in less than two months, just because FSG doesn't want to spend money.'
