Trent Alexander -Arnold has passed a cool LaLiga debut for Real Madrid -and some Fans of Liverpool enjoyed his struggles.
The Englishman closed one of the transfersagas of the year when he came to Real Madrid in June to end a 20-year-old Stint with his boys' club.
There were mixed emotions and opinions about his exit: many were grateful for his years of service and respected his right to continue, while others were bitter in how it was treated.
And it seems that some resentment will continue to exist between parts of the fan base while on Monday evening celebrating his heavy Laliga debut against Osasuna.
Alexander-Arnold was collected at 68 minutes after he had not won a tackle or a duel, lost the ball 15 times and fell crazy during the 1-0 victory of Madrid over Osasuna. However, 49 of his 52 passes were accurate.
Football is not played on a spreadsheet – sometimes the eye test can reveal different results on the data – but some Reds supporters were only too happy to hear of his struggles.
“Isn't it having to pretend to pretend Trent is the best in the world?” said a fan on X. “He will be back in Aston Villa in about 18 months.”
“You have no idea how refreshing and liberating it doesn't have to look anymore,” said another.
“Trent impresses Osasuna tonight,” one joked.
“Every Trent -Stinker I will be in the front row,” another promised.
However, many fans retain for the 26-year-old, or were at least measured in their response to his debut.
“Some of them were great crosses, just nobody in the right place to get to the end,” they wrote.
'It takes time to settle in a new team, he was a class player for us, he will be a top player for Madrid. New guys from Liverpool have not yet settled, “said another.
“Respect your best Academy player ever,” they noticed.
“Like a Liverpool fan, L laughs to everyone who underestimates this guy,” said another.
“You are as bitter exes that would not go further,” came to someone's judgment.
Many pointed out that although only one of the seven crosses of Alexander-Arnold found the target, the problem was just as good that Kylian Mbappe is not the most physical strikers to meet them.
He also adapts to a new system under Xabi Alonso and learns the play patterns of his teammates and runs, which can explain why none of his characteristic long balls has found the goal.
Ian Hawkey, who wrote for the Times from Madrid, thought that Alexander-Arnold had a 'satisfactory, largely neat home debut'.
It is not certain that he will start every match, since he is in competition with Dani Carvajal, 33, who has won 26 trophies with the club.
Before the Laliga seal opener, Xabi Alonso said about the rivalry: 'I am clear that it is a great competition. And I think it's great that we have two players in every position who can play. Carvajal comes closer to his level.
“That's very good for the team. We have many games. '
