Liverpool given major boost ahead of Real Madrid clash in Champions League
Real Madrid play Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday night in the Champions League and the player causing the most discussion regarding both clubs looks set to attend. Trent Alexander-Arnold has trained normally ahead of their match.
The English right back has recovered from a muscle injury in recent weeks, but was able to participate normally in training on Tuesday. This is according to Diario AS, which expects him to be deemed fit for the crunch match, but that Kostas Tsimikas will not be available, reports Paul Joyce. He has been ruled out due to a minor injury.
That probably means that Andy Robertson will be left back for Arne Slot. The most intriguing side, however, is that Real Madrid has left. With Vinicius Junior out, it looks like it would be Kylian Mbappe against Alexander-Arnold. The French forward will no doubt feel he can find success against the man who could be his team-mate next summer, but so will Alexander-Arnold, with Mbappe not known for chasing.
