Liverpool ‘going to have to bend the rules’ to ensure Mo Salah stays at Anfield

Mohamed Salah will leave Liverpool this summer, unless he signs a new contract with the Premier League Giants, but Michael Owen has a potential scenario for the Egyptian to stay a red.

Michael Owen believes that Liverpool should create a precedent in their contract policy to prevent Mohamed Salah from leaving. The Egyptian no longer has a contract at the end of the season and will leave Merseyside after eight years, unless a new deal can be agreed between the two parties.

If he deviate from the Premier League leaders, he would do this on the back of what perhaps the best season of his career was, scored 32 goals and had achieved 22 assists in 43 games in all competitions.

Owen-Die spent the first eight years of his career with Anfield, which the 32-year-old wants to stay in the club, but the hierarchy of Liverpool must make a special exception for Salah in their contract offer.

“Mo Salah is an interesting one. I think Mo Salah wants to stay, I am actually pretty sure that he wants to stay,” said the ex-England striker to talk. “I think Liverpool will have to bend the rules somewhat, they can say:” Oh yes, only two years for players of this age “.

“But he is not a normal player, he is just as fit as a flea, he is dedicated, he lives in the gym, he is so professional. You can't tell me that he will not be at the same level in three, four years. I mean, he is just incredible. So I would bend the contract, the length of the contract.

“I am not that kind of person, a fan who says: 'Just give him what he wants, he is brilliant, we win the competition with him'. No, because you cannot endanger your club, but I don't think it will be on that stage.

“To replace him, it will cost a lot more, you are not going to pay transfer costs for him. So I would do what is needed to keep him, and I think he wants to stay, but sources tell me that they are still quite apart.”

In the scenario that Salah Die is supposed to earn more than £ 300k-per-week, Owen Bournemouth-Vleugel player Antoine Semenyo gave as a potential replacement while he was tracing his former lace to try to silence Alexander from Newcastle.

“I think if he (Salah) would go, Liverpool would want to replace him or find another attacking player, because I think Darwin Nunez would probably also go,” he said.

“There are many alternatives, but nobody can replace Mo Salah. There is no one who will get his numbers. There have been a few rumors about different players lately.

“Alexander Isak would just be an incredible move if Liverpool could get him, but I am sure that almost every team wants him and Newcastle to be desperate to hold him, so that would be interesting.

“I love Antoine Semenyo in Bournemouth, who plays in the same position as Salah. I like him, a younger version, but certainly energy, scoring options and a good player.”
