Liverpool ‘join Barcelona and Real Madrid in race to sign 16-year-old wonderkid’

A 16-year-old Wonderkid from Georgia attracted Liverpool's interest after Barcelona and Real Madrid have sent scouts to follow his progress, according to reports in Spain.

Saba Karebashvili, who plays for Dinamo Tbilisi in Georgia, has already called for 28 senior performances for the club, even though they only turned 16 last September.

The left back made an impression after coming through the Tbilisi Academy, demonstrating a sound defensive power and the contribution of two assists from his 21 league games so far this campaign.

Karebashvili has already started breaking records on the European stage after having Tbilisi against Mornar Bar in their Europa Conference League qualifying match last year.

The Georgian, then 15 years old, became the youngest player in the history of UEFA Competition and exceeded the previous record of Borussia Dortmund's Youssoufa Moukoko.

As a result, the left -wing back quickly became one of the most sought after teenagers in world football, with a handful of European giants who have directed him as a potential star for the future.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Liverpool monitors De Sterret with a view to signing him as a long -term option at the left back.

Reds Stalwart Andrew Robertson will be 31 later this month, while colleague-back-back Konstantinos Tsimikas, 28, mainly functions as a team player under Arne Slot.

Due to a rule that prevents the Georgian talents from home to join foreign clubs until they have reached the age of 18, Karebashvili Tbilisi can leave to the earliest until September 2026.

However, clubs are able to coordinate transfers before that date – and therefore Liverpool are far from the only European giant that shows interest.

The Spanish newspaper claims that Real Madrid and Barcelona have both already sent scouts to check the progress of the defender in Georgia, following him first in November.

The Laliga Giants have a history of splashing talents of teenagers in the past, where Barcelona has recently invested it on Mikayil Faye, Pabo Torre and Ibrahim Diarra.

In the meantime, Real Madrid is looking for a left back after he fails in their pursuit of Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies.
