Liverpool legend casts fresh doubt over Mo Salah’s future – after being ‘CONVINCED’ he would stay just weeks ago

A former Liverpool star has made a U-turn in terms of his thoughts about the future of Mohamed Salah in the club.

The future of Salah with the Premier League leaders is dressed with uncertainty with a contract extension that still has to be affected between the club and the player.

The 32-year-old deal ends in the summer, which means that he could leave for nothing at the end of what a remarkable season.

The in-form attacker is not only with Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, also to become free agents at the same time as things.

And former Reds defender John Arne Riise admits that he is no longer sure that Salah will stay in Anfield.

Riise, in collaboration with Betmgm, was asked for per goal whether he is surprised that Liverpool had this situation materialized and replied: 'I am not sure how much they have done behind the scenes, perhaps trying to negotiate with his agent.

'There are different sides that Mo Salah says something and someone else says something else. It is really difficult to understand what really happened.

'It's a shame that things like that ends up in the press because it looks like they didn't speak at all. I can't believe that is the case.

“He is an incredible player and now he is in a position where he can just walk away. That is a position that nobody wants their best players to be in. '

Riise, who made 348 performances for the Merseyside outfit, added: 'If he wants to leave Liverpool, I am pretty sure that he is going to Saudi. He has been to Chelsea throughout Europe and in Italy he contributed to Europe, so if he decides to leave Liverpool, I think it is pretty clear that he will go to Saudi.

“I try to see where we are. It's a difficult one. I was quite convinced that he would sign a few weeks ago, but it takes so much time that I am not sure now. '

Salah contributed a different goal and an assist when Liverpool defeated Man City in the Etihad on Sunday to almost get out of sight at the top of the Premier League.

The match followed the second place of the second placed Arsenal's 2-0 defeat against West Ham the day before, leaving a 11-point gap between the two sides with 11 games, although the Gunners have a match in hand.
