Liverpool linked with €80m move for La Liga midfield star

Athletic Club is once again on the rise under Ernesto Valverde, and so far it is attacking midfielder Oihan Sancet who is making the difference for Los Leones. A fact that has not gone unnoticed by Europe's top clubs.

The 24-year-old Sancet has scored eight goals in fifteen games this season and is in good form. He scored one goal against Rayo Vallecano in the last two weeks and scored the winner against Real Sociedad. Fichajes says Liverpool are keenly interested in that form and see him as a potential option to strengthen their midfield. Considering his age, he would be a move that would bring them immediate achievements, but also see the Basque reach his peak.

He has a contract with Athletic until 2032, a clear sign that he has no real intention of leaving anytime soon, so they may have to convince him to leave too. That contract includes an €80 million release clause, and Athletic are notorious for not negotiating those clauses. If Liverpool want him, they will have to commit to him in a big way.
