The Romanian defender Andrei Ratiu is said to be interested in a large number of top European clubs, including Premier League -rival Liverpool and Manchester City.
The 26-year-old right back has been a support pillar on the Rayo Vallecano side that insists on European qualification in LaLiga. Ratiu has played two in all 29 league games, scored twice and offered three assistance.
What is even more important, he is part of a defensive unity with a record that is only improved by the top four sides in the division.
According to Sport Bild, Ratiu could be available for only £ 21 million this summer. However, due to a buy back clause in the deal that brought him to Vallecas for less than £ 500,000 – former Club Villarreal can secure its return for only £ 6 million plus 50 percent of the transfer rights and sell to the highest bidder.
“We are very happy here with Andrei,” Rayo -sports director David Cobeno told Dazn. 'The motto is always the same: those who want him must pay his release clause.
'We have very confidence in the future. Time will learn whether he will stay with us or whether someone else pays his release clause. '
Ratiu is said to be a particularly attractive option for a number of clubs.
Liverpool is expected to be on the market for a new right-sided full-back, because Trent Alexander-Arnold is approaching a free transfer to Real Madrid.
The men of Arne Slot are connected to Bayer Leverkusen -defender Jeremie Frimpong. If that deal is completed, it would require a dip on the market for the German champions.
Barcelona is also supposed to be in the context to take the defender. After reports of Chelsea's interest in right back Joules Kounde, it comes.
In the meantime, Man City will gladly strengthen their number of defense, in particular in court full-back after the departure of Kyle Walker, albeit on loan to AC Milan until the end of the season. Pep Guardiola has had to place a large number of players out of position this period.
