This summer Liverpool has set up a strategy for the future of French defender Ibrahima Konate, because they want to keep the center back. Real Madrid waits patiently and also consider a movement for him.
The Reds have sworn to fight hard to hold Konate, which has so far rejected contract deals that he has made. His intention is probably to sign for Real Madrid next summer on a free when his deal expires, whereby Los Blancos wants to strengthen their backline – their veteran of DUO of Antonio Rudiger and David Alaba no longer have a contract in contract in 2026.
According to Fabrizio Romano (Via Diario AS), Liverpool will make a fresh 'irresistible' contract offer to judge an attempt to prevent a second star member of their defense being poached by Los Blancos. However, if Konate also rejects that offer, they can open the door at the end of the transfer market for selling Konate this summer.
Days earlier, Romano had stated that Real Madrid Konate signed this summer with 15%, and noted that the Spanish giants are very enthusiastic about the 26-year-old.
The most important obstacle could be the price tag. In a similar situation last season, Real Madrid and Liverpool are not a deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, although the expiry of him would have been another problem in the middle season.
Previous reports have indicated that Liverpool would look for € 50 million for Konate. In the meantime, Real Madrid would only be willing to spend € 20-25 million to a player with whom they can agree in six months. A considerable difference, all three will be at stake millions in the next six weeks.
