The Reds have sworn to fight hard to hold Konate, which has so far rejected contract deals that he has made. According to Fabrizio Romano (Via Diario AS), Liverpool will make a fresh 'irresistible' contract offer to judge an attempt to prevent a second star member of their defense being poached by Los Blancos. Days earlier, Romano had stated that Real Madrid Konate signed this summer with 15%, and noted that the Spanish giants are very enthusiastic about the 26-year-old.
The most important obstacle could be the price tag. In a similar situation last season, Real Madrid and Liverpool are not a deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold in January, although the expiry of him would have been another problem in the middle season.
