Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton lined up for Sheffield United transfer
SHEFFIELD UNITED could make a loan move for Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton – to soften the blow of losing Oli Arblaster.
Morton, 18, has already shown he can handle the Championship during spells at Blackburn and Hull and could now have a third crack.
The Blades need a short-term solution after losing injured midfielder Arblaster, 20, with Morton surprisingly left behind at the Kop this season.
United have also looked at overseas targets, but those projects would require turnover to materialize and create vacancies in their talented squad.
Morton scored three goals and five assists in 40 Championship games for Blackburn last season.
This season he was largely on the bench at Liverpool under Arne Slot and made only two appearances in the Carabao Cup against Brighton and West Ham.
At youth level, Morton excelled in the Prem's development league Premier League 2, scoring three times and setting up another goal in just three appearances.
Morton is also an England U21 international and was called up to Ben Futcher's squad for friendlies against the Netherlands and Spain in November.
It looks like Sheffield United will also keep hold of another rising Premier League star.
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner is happy that Jesurun Rak-Sakyi will remain on loan at the Blades.
Glasner wanted Rak-Sakyi to get playing time and it paid off, with Eagles fans eager for him to return to boost their Prem survival scrap.
But the Palace manager plans to keep Rak-Sakyi, 22, at Bramall Lane rather than part of his thin squad.
Since arriving in Sheffield, Rak-Sakyi has scored four goals and registered two assists in seventeen Championship games.
