Liverpool have been urged to sign two Premier League stars by former Reds midfielder Dietmar Hamann.
Hamann, who spent seven seasons at Liverpool and helped them win the Champions League, believes Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran and Bournemouth defender Milos Kerkez would be “brilliant” additions to Arne Slot's squad.
Liverpool currently sit eight points clear at the top of the league but could be set for a major squad overhaul, with Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold all coming to the end of their contracts and no extensions yet to agree.
And Hamann believes Duran and Kerkez are two players who could flourish at Anfield. “Could Liverpool move for Harry Kane? To be honest he seems happy at Bayern Munich and I don't think Munich want to sell him either,” Hamann told BoyleSports, which offers the latest Liverpool-Man Utd odds.
“I don't think that will happen and Liverpool have never been the biggest spenders so it's unlikely. However, Jhon Duran is a brilliant player and the way he plays it always helps to have a player with a physical presence up front to have.”
“He created space up front and made a huge impact for Villa. I definitely think Liverpool should keep an eye on him.” Liverpool have been linked with a move for Kerkez and Hamann believes he would be an excellent signing, comparing the 21-year-old to former Reds star John Arne Riise.
“Milos Kerkez is a brilliant player,” Hamann added. “We see it time and time again in the Premier League. If you play well you will get a lot of interest. Andy Robertson is in his late 20s and Kostas Tsimikas is a great back-up but he wanted to leave for the Premier League.” two seasons gone now.
