Liverpool set for mixed injury news on Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley

Arne Slot may have left Anfield with a sour taste in his mouth after Liverpool's win over Real Madrid, with the Reds now sweating over the fitness of Ibrahima Konate and Conor Bradley.

The pair both started as Slot maintained his perfect Champions League record this season and saw his side claim a clean sheet against the current European champions. Bradley thrived as he continued to replace Trent Alexander-Arnold, with his tackle on Los Blancos superstar Kylian Mbappe drawing one of the loudest cheers of the night.

However, Bradley was unable to last the entire 90 minutes after feeling discomfort in his hamstring. Mail Online reports that the Northern Ireland defender could be ruled out for four weeks, although the extent of the injury will need to be assessed through scans.

Konate, meanwhile, still has the chance to prove his fitness in time for this weekend's clash with Manchester City. The Frenchman is in doubt after he limped off on Wednesday night, but it is said there is hope the centre-back has avoided serious damage.

Slot admitted his concerns at his press conference on Thursday afternoon. “They are still being assessed,” he said.

“Let's wait and see, but it's never a good sign. Conor, I had to drop him and Ibou didn't walk off the field like he should after such a fantastic game he played. He should have gone around and clapped. ” the fans, but he couldn't do it.

“It's so close after last night's game and I've just come from the training ground so I can't tell you exactly where they are. We'll have to wait and see where they are this weekend.”

Slot simply said 'yes, he would' when asked if Trent Alexander-Arnold would be fit enough to start against Pep Guardiola's side on Sunday. The England international was present as a substitute at Anfield but was not used as Bradley's replacement against Real Madrid.

The Reds will be without Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, Kostas Tsimikas and Federico Chiesa to face City, but Slot is not concerned that his team's injury problems have not been focused on. The former Feyenoord boss is satisfied with the impressive record of his team.

“We have some very important players who are injured, but when the substitutes are doing so well it is normal that people don't talk about it so much,” he said. “It is true that missing Alisson, who has been a starter for this club and has been so important for this club for so long, missing Diogo Jota [and] Missing Trent in the last two games – these are players who have had a big influence on the results in recent years. But it's a good thing we don't talk about it.”
