Liverpool set price as Erik ten Hag eyes Reds swoop to replace Bayern Munich star

Liverpool closes a deal for Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Florian Wirtz after signing Jeremie Frimpong, but their things with the German side may not be over yet

Liverpool is braced for a bid for Jarell Quansah after Bayer Leverkusen had made their interest in the Reds defender clear. But the MerseSiders will want around £ 40 million to give up the defender.

The two clubs are locked up for weeks in conversations about a record of £ 116 million deal for Germany -star Florian Wirtz, who will undergo his medical on Merseyside on Friday. Every deal for Quansah would be separated and conversations will continue after the Wirtz deal has been completed instead of stopping that transfer.

Liverpool is said to be reluctant sellers of Quansah, who is currently at the U21s of England at the European Championships. They followed Crystal Palace -defender Marc Guehi, for whom they could move if Quansah would leave.

Guehi is from a contract in Selhurst Park next summer, but is also interesting for Newcastle. Quansah signed a new contract last season and is very admired among the Reds employees, but he also wants to play more after falling the pecking order in Anfield.

Leverkusen wants to replace Jonathan Tah, who left to become a member of Bayern Munich and new boss Erik ten Hag is a fan of Quansah. The Bundesliga club hope to negotiate a lower fee than £ 40 million and hope that their handling of the Reds can help conversations.

Liverpool has also doubted Virgil van Dijk, who has signed a two-year-old deal, and Ibrahima Konate, who has entered the last 12 months of his contract, as center-back options with the future of Joe Gomez. That would mean if Quansah moves, then Liverpool will probably bring in a center-back with Guehi a player of interest.

More incoming transfers will probably be made a break this summer for the time being a lucrative window. Jeremie Frimpong arrived from Leverkusen for a fee of £ 35 million, while Wirtz Liverpool's own arrival will see their transfer record breaking.

Bournemouth -defender Milos Kerkez also seems to be about to become a Liverpool player according to his father and agent Sebastijan. Speaking of Super Indirekto, he said: “It is only Liverpool for us and we will not go anywhere else and we will not talk to other clubs. Everything has been done between our (personal conditions) We just have to figure out some details, but it is actually a foregone dealer.”
