Liverpool set to REJECT Real’s offer for TAA and make decision on Chiesa future

Liverpool are ready to reject Real Madrid's ongoing £20million bid for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Madrid have already approached the right-back despite no formal offer being made, but the Reds were quick to reject their advance.

Mail Sport have reported that the Spaniards are confident they can entice the 26-year-old to join them as his contract expires at the end of June.

They could get the England international for free this summer, but Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to secure a deal this month after a season-ending injury to regular right-back Dani Carvajal.

Liverpool sources insist that Alexander-Arnold, who joined Liverpool at the age of six, has given no indication that he wants to leave the club.

But Arne Slot's side will be keen to secure his future sooner or later – alongside those of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk – rather than risk losing one of the Premier League's brightest talents for nothing.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are reluctant to loan Federico Chiesa due to interest from Italian clubs.

Slot wants to keep six attackers for his team in the future and Chiesa has built up match fitness in recent weeks.

The 27-year-old only joined Liverpool in the summer but was out injured for two-and-a-half months and was limited to four appearances.

Chiesa played a key role in Italy's Euro 2020 triumph but injuries have hampered the final years of his career.

Still, he managed to score ten goals for Juventus last season and there are hopes he can be a regular contributor in the future for Liverpool, whose strength in depth has become a real asset.
