Real Madrid evaluates the idea of bringing in a central midfielder this summer, after the absence of Toni Kroos has proved to be more difficult than first thought to deal with. One of the names that have been linked to them lately is Liverpool star Alexis Mac Allister.
Los Blancos was connected to the Argentina International, and when he was asked about it, Mac Allister's father opened the door for a movement for his son to the Santiago Bernabeu, although he later rowed back on those comments after a media form. Now Mac Allister has discussed the case itself.
In an interview with TYC Sports in Argentina, as worn by Cadena Ser, Mac Alliser played the prospect of a move.
“Yes, I read things and they reach me, but I treat them very calmly, because in the end, what is important is what is happening today, it is the present. No matter how much the club wants me, if I play badly during the weekend, there will be a time when that club no longer wants me.”
“Many things are also said that are not real. Every time I get on a football field and do my best, I try to enjoy a club like Liverpool today, and I don't need that. I respect the club enormously, and I don't think it's necessary to talk about other situations,” said Mac Allister.
That seems relatively convincing from Mac Allister, and there are certainly factors that indicate that Liverpool is safe for a transfer offensive. To begin with, Mac is 26 years old and with a contract until 2028 Los Blancos would probably have to spend big to get him. In recent years, Real Madrid has only done that for players from early twenty or younger. The midfielder that they are most strongly linked to his Martin Zubimendi, but they are confronted with strong competition from Arsenal.
