Liverpool star Darwin Nunez left in no man’s land after brutal Man City snub

Darwin Nunez may no longer have any chances.

While Liverpool brought a big step closer to a second Premier League title by hitting Manchester City on Sunday, the Uruguayan was stuck to his chair on the couch.

And with Jamie Carragher among those who suggest that Center-Forward is one of the three areas that the club will strengthen in the summer, the prospect that Nunez ends his big money, low success tint at Anfield, is becoming increasingly likely.

That newest miss in the midweekeclock to Aston Villa looked like a turning point – even if it is unlikely that the two cases points their load to the trophy. But it is important to remember that Nunez has also won competitions for the running leaders.

After the recent victory in Brentford, when he jumped out of the bank to score two late goals, teammates including Virgil van Dijk and Harvey Elliott were quickly supported.

Including, on the other hand, both praise and measured criticism have offered for a player who is able to produce sublime and ridiculous.

He clearly made it clear that he was disappointed by Nunez's 'behavior' after the Miss in Villa – or more accurately how his work ethics seemed to fall with his head. And that, the Dutchman said, is one thing he can't tolerate.

In the meantime, Carragher thinks that a new NO9 will be at the top of the wish list this summer, regardless of the future of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold remain unclear.

“Even if this team is going to win the competition, I think there are three more positions in this team that can be improved quite a bit. It's not about bringing in four or five squadron players, “he said.

“I think a left back could come in, a center-forward and an attacking midfielder. I am talking about entering the team. You would expect Liverpool to spend money and that would be exciting.”

But for Nunez to deal, Liverpool will have to reduce their losses.

He has already cost the club £ 76.8 million in anticipation of other potential add-ons from the deal with Benfica. In the meantime, his contract has left for three years to run.

And although the market for a striker will be hot this summer, with a large number of clubs in the Premier League that want to strengthen, he will not be among the top choices for many.
