Atletico Madrid will be on the market for different players this summer, and one of their possible signing sessions could arrive from Liverpool – that's Darwin Nunez.
Nunez has had a hard time having things in Liverpool, and as such he has already decided that he will move this summer. And a return to Spanish football, where he previously played with Almeria, could be on the cards, given that Athleti has shown interest in his services.
Liverpool is open to sales, and since Athleti is looking for a new striker to replace the expected Departee Angel Correa, it makes sense that a deal is reached – especially since Nunez is very enthusiastic about a switch to the Riyadhair -Metropolitano, as reported by Cadena Ser.
Atleti are convinced that they can help NUNEZ to return to the level he showed in Benfica prior to his Liverpool -relocation in 2022. They have already had conversations with the Uruguay International and his representatives, where it was made clear that the player would be to join Diego Simeone's team.
Nunez is a signature that makes sense for Athleti, and it seems to fit perfectly with Simeone. But there is no guarantee that a deal can be closed this summer, because Liverpool demands more than € 45 million, which may be priceless, since Los Colchoneros is also on the market for two midfielders, one of whom is assumed to be Alex Baena and a central defender.
It is still to be seen whether NUNEZ is joining, but it is clear that Athleti wants a new striker. A mutually affordable deal with Liverpool can be reached, but it will not be easy.
