Liverpool told to swap Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez for two Premier League stars

Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez both confronted with uncertain futures in Liverpool and one of the former fronts of the club has selected a few potential replacements for the duo.

Former Liverpool -striker Michael Owen has encouraged the club to look in the Premier League for replacements for Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez. Salah's contract has risen in the summer, while the misjudging of frontman Nunez is linked to a move to the Saudi Pro League.

The two players who were selected as replacements by Owen are Newcastle star Alexander Isak and Bournemouth frontman Antoine Semenyo. Isak has been mentioned earlier in connection with the Reds, while Semenyo has attracted attention with its cherries form this term.

The London born in London, 25, has nine goals and five assists in all competitions this period. It is a career-best return for the attacker, who came to Bristol City in January 2023.

Isak, a 25-year-old also closes a career-best season. The Sweden International has 23 club goals in all competitions, only two shy of his return last season.

The frontman of Newcastle also scored four times in so many UEFA Nations League matches in the fall. However, he pulled a blank when Sweden ran a friendly defeat for Luxembourg in their last international fixture.

“There have been a few rumors about different players lately,” Owen told OLBG. “Alexander Isak, of course, in Newcastle who recently scored against them, that would just be an incredible move if Liverpool could get him, but I am sure that almost every team wants him and I am sure that Newcastle is desperate to hold him, so that would be interesting.

“I love Antoine Semenyo in Bournemouth, who plays in the same position as Salah. I like him, a younger version, but certainly energy, scoring options and a good player. Having said that, you can't replace Mo Salah.

“I mean, if you said that Mo Salah and Darwin Nunez went and Alexandr Isak and Antoine Semenyo came, I don't think it's the worst exchange in the world if we play fantasy football here, but realistically Liverpool want to hold their best players and Mo Salah is their best player, he doesn't leave.”

While Owen Liverpool has focused on Isak and Semenyo, his former teammate Alan Shearer of England has various ideas. The match of the Dagpundit has encouraged the Reds to sign Liam Delap, who threatens to relegate with Ipswich Town.

“Liverpool needs a center-forward,” Shearer said that the rest is a football podcast. “They can try to set up Nunez and put someone else in that position.
