Manchester United wants to sell Marcus Rashford after he had fallen out with Baas Ruben Amorim and Barcelona now look the most likely destination after the Spanish club made the England star their “priority”
Marcus Rashford is now the “priority” target of Barcelona this summer after Liverpool has rejected their approach for Luis Diaz, according to reports.
Rashford is looking for his next club after being put aside by Manchester United -Baas Ruben Amorim after a fall -out between the couple.
He spent the second half of last season on loan in Aston Villa and made an impression under Unai Emery, but Villa did not take the option to permanently buy the attacker for £ 40 million.
Rashford saw his loan agreement end early after collecting a seasonal injury at Villa and since recovering he has tried to drum the interest between the club in Europe.
United gave him extra time to get a transfer before he returned to the training, but is now back at Carrington training, away from the first team team.
And according to Sky in Germany, Barcelona is now “all-in” for Rashford, who has become “clear number one target” after missing Diaz.
Barca boss Hansi Flick is looking for a new winger and remained disappointed in his pursuit for Diaz, where Liverpool continued that the £ 60 million star was not for sale. Bayern Munich had also rejected an offer for the 28-year-old this summer.
It comes after Diaz stated that he was “very, very happy” in Anfield, after he played a key role under Arne Slot in their Premier League-title-winning campaign, scored 13 goals and assisted five.
Now Flick has given the green light to Barcelona who insists on Rashford and the La Liga Club will try to let the deal happen.
Barcelona also missed Nico Williams after his shock decision to sign a 10-year-old deal with Athletic Bilbao, while they also swallowed with signing a different target in Rafael Leao of AC Milan.
It is understood that Rashford is ready to take a huge wage reduction on its wages of £ 325,000 a week to seal a switch to the Spanish giants to help Barca to keep the costs low, although the Spanish club is hopeful to do a loan instead of permanently signing him.
His salary remains a stumbling block in every deal and United could still subsidize part of its wages to get the deal over the line. The Red Devils have already suggested Matheus Cunha to push Rashford further into the pecking order, while they also try to break Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo.
