Liverpool are high at the top of the Premier League and in Europe, but things are not going well on Merseyside.
The Reds are still paralyzed by speculation over three of their top stars, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all out of contract at the end of the season.
Real Madrid made a move to sign Alexander-Arnold last week and it remains to be seen whether they will return to the table before the end of the month. Arne Slot could also look to strengthen his squad in the coming weeks to help his side in their quest for another domestic crown.
Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest transfer news from Anfield following the enthralling 2-2 draw against Manchester United…
Trent's 'insulting' offer rejected
Gary Neville has accused Real Madrid of making an 'insulting' transfer offer for Trent Alexander-Arnold as speculation over his future continues.
The 26-year-old right-back was the subject of an approach from the Spanish giants last week, with Real willing to pay £20million to sign him in January. It was thought their preference would be to allow the England star to move on a free transfer this summer.
But Neville has criticized Los Blancos for making a bid in the week ahead of Liverpool's big match against Manchester United.
Slot was told that he had to sign a left back
Arne Slot has been urged by Anfield favorite Jamie Carragher to sign a new left back in January.
Scotland star Andy Robertson has been a regular at left-back for the Reds but has struggled for consistency this season. And with Liverpool in pole position to win the Premier League title in May, Carragher does not want Slot and co to take any risks.
After Sunday's match against Manchester United, he made it clear that he believes adding a new left-back to help Robertson in January could make the difference in the title race.
Carragher has previously tipped Liverpool to replace Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez – a player he believes would be perfect for Slot's team.
New contract request submitted
Liverpool fans have already made signs urging Fenway Sports Group to sign Mohamed Salah to a new contract this season – and they have now unveiled a new sign with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk added to the mix.
The banner, which features all three Liverpool stars, was spotted in the crowd during Sunday's match against Manchester United.
And the message to FSG was loud and clear: “Give Mo and co their money”.
