Liverpool transfer news: Mo Salah receives shock offer as winger ‘wants January exit’

The transfer window is open and Liverpool have the opportunity to boost their Premier League chances with some January signings if they wish.

An approach from Real Madrid over a possible early deal for Trent Alexander-Arnold has kicked off the month. The academy player, along with Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, can speak to clubs across Europe as he enters the final six months of his contract.

Arne Slot will hope the Reds can avoid distractions to continue the good form they have shown under the Dutchman. But has Slot discovered where he would like to improve his side?

Mirror Football takes a look at the latest transfer news and rumors surrounding Anfield.

Winger wants exit

Federico Chiesa would like to move to Italy for the rest of the season. The former Juventus star has had a difficult injury season and has struggled to break into Slot's team

Inter Milan, AC Milan, Roma, Napoli, Atalanta and Fiorentina have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old. Chiesa is said to be interested in a six-month loan or a permanent move, but salary has been cited as a sticking point.

FootMercato claims Chiesa is hoping for more regular playing time, with national coach Luciano Spalletti pushing for a return to Serie A to boost his international hopes.

Omar Marmoush last

Any chance Liverpool have of signing Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt could be damaged by the club's ongoing talks with Mo Salah, according to reports. The Reds' negotiations with their talisman could see Arsenal move ahead of his Egyptian teammate.

The club's priority remains convincing Salah to agree new terms and Frankfurt are keen to keep Marmoush until the end of the season. The Bundesliga side are likely to hold out for £50m but Arsenal and Liverpool have been boosted amid reports a bid from a European giant could turn heads.

Marmoush recently suggested otherwise. “What I can promise the fans is that I will give everything for Eintracht in every match,” Marmoush told TZ.

“I'm not thinking about a transfer. I live in the here and now and enjoy my time in Frankfurt.”

Shock Salah offer

Paris Saint-Germain hopes to blow Liverpool out of the water with a bid for Mo Salah. Romain Collet Gaudin reports that the Ligue 1 side have offered Salah a three-year contract and are willing to pay the 32-year-old 500,000 euros per week for his services.

Such a move would make the Premier League star the Parisian club's first major signing since the departure of Kylian Mbappe.
