Liverpool urged to act on £50m transfer target with Virgil van Dijk deadline set

Liverpool is one of the many clubs interested in signing Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen this summer, with the 19-year-old probably a release clause of £ 50 million in his contract

Liverpool is encouraged to spend great on “Rolls Royce” defender Dean Huijsen while the Reds consider a summer movement for Bournemouth's talent. The 19-year-old Spain International is a striking performer in the Premier League this season and attracted interest from various clubs, including Real Madrid and Liverpool, who are uncertain about the future of Virgil van Dijk in Anfield.

Huijsen's contract with the Cherries is reportedly containing a release clause of £ 50 million. Former Manchester United and Wrexham -goalkeeper Ben Foster believes that Huijsen would be a bargain for Liverpool for that price and has the potential to fill Van Dijk's extensive shoes.

Foster also suggested that Juventus, the former club of Huijsen, would regret their decision to have him added to Bournemouth last summer for around £ 13 million.

“Huijsen is a Rolls Royce,” Foster said on his Fozcast -Podcast. “Juve will see him go 'Oh no, what have we done? We have sold this boy for £ 15 million, and now he has a £ 50 million buyout clause in his contract.” Realistically, with how much he has improved, he is probably worth more than that.

“There will be clubs that are about the proverbial flying around the proverbial in the summer. It is a huge question to try to fill the shoes of Virgil van Dijk, but it is a good start. The big question of a young player, especially a center back that the Premier League comes in the Premier League is whether they can hit the ground and adjust themselves.

“It is a huge step, even from Juventus. This is all incorporated into the fact that teams want to buy it now. They see him on the field and it is the eye test where you see someone calm and composed and looks like they hear.”

The battle for Huijsen's signature has been warmed up, with Liverpool among the potential lovers. The Telegraph reports that Chelsea, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also in the mix to secure his services.

It is assumed that Bournemouth achieved his signature last year by promising to give him a chance to shine in the Premier League, but scraps himself for him to leave. The cherries are said to have predicted that Huijsen will eventually be one of the world's top three center backs.

Liverpool is confronted with tug of war for his talents, since Spanish news exhaust sport claims that Chelsea manager Enzo has reached Maresca directly to Huijsen to take him to Stamford Bridge.

In another development, Foster spoke about the future of Liverpool Lynchpins van Dijk and Mohamed Salah. He fears that their long-term contract interviews can be a bad omen, where Trent Alexander-Arnold would also see a switch to the Real Madrid in the summer.

Foster believes that Liverpool should act within the coming weeks or run the risk of losing all three players. He said: “I think VVD will go and they all go. I can't believe that we come to this phase of the season and the longer it goes on, the more it worries me.

“For me they have two weeks to announce that one of them has signed. When we pass it, I think it is done and I think they are gone. Lately there has been too much negativity in Liverpool in the past three or four weeks.

“If they had already done it, they would have used it and they would have turned it off. You know for sure that Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk will have Saudi teams who sniff like crazy.”

Liverpool can be forced to consider their options, even if Van Dijk agrees with a new contract, because the Dutch defender is approaching his 34th birthday this summer.

In the meantime, Huijsen has received a lot of praise from his manager Andoni Iraola after his debut for Spain in the international break against the Netherlands by Van Dijk.

“Of course he has improved because he now has more experience,” Iraola said. “He has had to deal with very difficult attackers, but we have already received a very good player when he came in the summer.”
