Liverpool -legend Joey Jones, who won two European cups with the club in the 1970s, died at the age of 70.
The Wales hero was also a popular figure at Wrexham, Chelsea and Huddersfield.
Colleague Liverpool -legend John Aldridge wrote on X: 'More sad news people Joey Jones died last night.
'What a sweet man and an inspiring full back that gave his heart and soul in a red shirt and for all the clubs for which he played! Our thoughts are with Joey's family! I have a happy man who has often met him, ynwa rip top man. '
Jones came to Wrexham near Wrexham in 1971.
In 1975 he left for Liverpool and enjoyed a glorious three -year -old Stint, lifted their first European cup in 1977 and added a year later.
He also won the first division 1976-77 with the Reds as well as the UEFA Cup and European Super Cup.
