Liverpool’s enormous final contract offer to Arnold to fight Real interest

According to reports, Liverpool will offer Trent Alexander-Arnold a hugely lucrative salary to convince him to stay in the Premier League.

Liverpool are not giving up on Trent Alexander-Arnold. The Reds' latest move, as reported by British newspaper The Mirror, is an astronomical contract extension offer aimed at permanently convincing the homegrown right-back to stay.

The proposed extension is for five seasons and includes a total salary of $100 million, which equates to $20 million per year. These figures are comparable to what Real Madrid, the other top contender for the player, is reportedly willing to offer.

Why Real Madrid's offer remains more attractive for Alexander-Arnold

The big difference is that if Alexander-Arnold accepts Real Madrid's offer, it would mean a signing bonus directly for him, tipping the balance in the Spanish club's favor.

If he accepts Liverpool's offer of £300,000 (just under $373,000) per week, he would become the team's second-highest paid player, behind Mohamed Salah and ahead of other key players such as Virgil van Dijk.

This is Liverpool's latest attempt to retain the player, who was born and raised in the city and has spent his entire career at the club, a factor considered crucial to his potential decision to stay.

Alexander-Arnold's stellar season and the fact that his contract expires on June 30 have piqued Real Madrid's interest. However, Liverpool remain hopeful they can convince him to continue in the Premier League.
