Liverpool’s even stronger dream XI for next season with three areas improved

Liverpool is about to win the Premier League in the first season of Arne Slot.

The Reds are currently 11 points clearly at the top of the table and have only suffered one defeat so far. However, Liverpool -legend Jamie Carragher believes that there are three positions that they should strengthen in the summer.

“I think Liverpool can bring a left-back, a center-forward and an attacking midfielder,” said Carragher on Sky Sports after their 2-0 win over Manchester City. “I am talking about actually going in the team. You would imagine that Liverpool would have money to spend because they have not spent anything in recent years.”

With that in mind, Mirror Football took a look at how Liverpool could stand in line next season if they follow the advice of Carragher …

Alisson is likely to continue as Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper, despite the fact that Giorgi Mhaldashvili has already been signed as his long-term replacement. Reds captain Virgil van Dijk is one of the three important players who do not have a contract at the end of this season, but if he does his deal, he will continue to do partners Ibrahima Konate in defense.

The future of Trent Alexander-Arnold is also questioning, with Real Madrid hoping to lure him to the Bernabeu on a free transfer. Assuming that he finally decides to sign a contract extension, he will continue to be right back before Understudy Conor Bradley.

Andy Robertson has not been at his best this season, hence Carragher's call for a new left back to sign, and Liverpool is heavily connected to a movement for Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez. Kerkez has been impressed since signing the cherries and would be an excellent long -term replacement for Robertson at only 21 years old.

Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister have formed an excellent partnership in central midfield, while Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai are also options. However, Carragher is not a fan of Szoboszlai who is used as an attacking midfielder and has previously insisted Liverpool to sign Lucas Paqueta of West Ham to play there.

Liverpool could also enter the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko in the midst of the recent struggles of Darwin Nunez. The 25-year-old has scored only four Premier League goals this season and was largely used as a replacement by Slot, which suggests that he could be sold in the summer to finance a movement for a new striker such as Sesko.

Cody Gakpo is now in excellent form under lock and Mohamed Salah remains one of the best in the world. Liverpool will be desperate for the Egyptian to extend his stay in Anfield.

Potential Liverpool XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Kerkez, Gravenberch, Mac Allister, Paqueta, Salah, Sesko, Gakpo.
