With all the speculation surrounding his future and some spectacular performances in the first half of the season, Mohamed Salah has opened up.
The 2025 season is going well for Liverpool, who have quickly adapted to life without Jurgen Klopp under Arne Slot. The team currently sits top of the Premier League with 45 points, even with a game in hand against their biggest challengers. Arsenal, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea are within striking distance but are six, eight and ten points behind respectively.
At the age of 32, Salah is proving to many that he could be the most decisive player of the 2024/25 Premier League season. He leads the league in both goals (17) and assists (13), outperforming stars such as Erling Haaland and Bukayo Saka. And the Egyptian king's focus is clear: bringing another league title to Anfield after four consecutive years of dominance by Manchester City.
Bernardo Silva, a crucial figure in Pep Guardiola's squad at Manchester City, recently acknowledged Liverpool's supremacy in this first half of the season. In fairness, he admitted that the Premier League title is almost out of reach for City, thanks to Liverpool's excellent performance.
Silva also reminded us that before City's four-year spell, the Reds were the last team to lift the Premier League trophy.
Salah gives priority to the Premier League over the Champions League
In an exclusive interview with TNT Sports Mexico, Salah reflected on his current form, his legacy at Liverpool and his views on individual and team performance.
“I used to love those (individual awards), but I've won almost that much. So I want to thank everyone for that, but no, I don't think it drives me in the same way anymore,” Salah admitted, before revealing what his favorite title would be this season.
“Now I just feel like I want to win more this year, especially the Premier League, than the Champions League. It's the Eredivisie. To be an important part of the team that wins, that's great,” he concluded, confirming his determination to lead Liverpool to domestic glory this season.
