Lloris ‘excited’ to reunite with Son at LAFC as Tottenham icon nears MLS debut

Hugo Lloris has admitted that it feels 'great' to be reunited with former Tottenham teammate Heung-Min at Lafc Son while the South Korean is preparing to make his debut.

The 33-year-old ended his ten-year association with Tottenham and fulfilled his promise to stay at the club until they won a trophy.

Son has since signed for MLS Side Lafc, where he will participate in the former teammate, World Cup winning goalkeeper Lloris, 38.

He said to reporters on Friday: “It's great to be together again. It is a new chapter with another sweater, but with the same ambition, the same motivation.

“He is a big competitor. He has been the captain of Spurs for the last two years. He is the captain of his national team.

“He spent 10 years at Spurs, he did everything he could, he won the Europa League last season. He achieved so much in the Premier League, in terms of statistics, in terms of image, he is respected all over the world. I understand that you arrive at a certain stage in your career, you need a new goal, a a new goal.

“It's great to see him coming to the MLS, you know, great for the city, great for the club, great for our team because he is a kind of example. There are plenty of things to learn from him … so I expect he has a really big impact.”
