The footage of Logan Paul hitting the heavy bag has fans on social media concerned about his touted return to the ring.
Rumors have been swirling over the past two weeks about a possible exhibition boxing match between the WWE star and UFC legend Conor McGregor. The Irishman claims there are 'tentative agreements' for the fight to take place in India.
And on Sunday, McGregor's news outlet The Mac Life reported that he is set to take part in a Visit India tourism campaign that culminates in the fight. And he even co-authored an Instagram post claiming that he and Paul will receive $250 million in purses for the event, which is being funded by the Ambani family.
Conor McGregor gives an important update on the fight with Logan Paul
On Sunday, a troll tweet from an account posing as former TalkSPORT editor Michael Benson managed to infiltrate the world of legitimate MMA media. The “report,” which cited an imaginary earlier message from Dan Rafael, was the latest in a series of comical claims.
The troll claimed that the fight would take place at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and that there would be an equal split of a $500 million pot for Conor McGregor and Logan Paul. This was picked up by a number of outlets and reposted by McGregor himself.
But in a bizarre turn of events, McGregor himself has contributed to an Instagram post from his news outlet The Mac Life, which repeats these reports. This is despite the troll account being exposed as illegal, further confusing fans.
For his part, Paul has been more reserved with his involvement, simply liking a post from social media aggregator Happy Punch on Instagram that referenced the wallet. He has not yet explicitly said anything about the fight, after the Irishman claimed on December 17 that the fight had a 'provisional agreement'.
Logan Paul returns to boxing training amid Conor McGregor fight rumors
Despite trying to stay quiet, Paul couldn't resist teasing fans with some footage of himself hitting the heavy bag on social media amid the fight rumors. He posted a short video on his Instagram story, which quickly went viral on other platforms.
You can see him hitting the bag at his Puerto Rican training base, which he shares with his brother Jake Paul, who also lives in a luxurious mansion on Dorado Island. The facility has rings for professional wrestling and boxing, with the older sibling recently focusing on the former.
In the video, it appeared to be a low-intensity session of bag work for older brother Paul, as well as a chance to promote his drinks brand Prime, which he tagged. He also trained for a ring that featured his brother's deodorant company W.
While Jake has spent the last four years fighting his way into the boxing ring, Logan has only ever committed himself to big circus-style fights. He recently earned his first win by DQ against McGregor's good friend Dillon Danis after three previous attempts didn't go his way.
Fans react to Logan Paul's new boxing footage
Once the video of Paul's workout reached X, fans were able to quickly analyze what they had seen in just a few seconds. There were many criticisms, the most obvious of which seemed to be that he was still throwing arm punches six years after his first fight, as well as his inability to get his hands back up after punches.
“Guys have been boxing for 4-5 years and still can't box properly,” one viewer wrote. “Dude needs a new coach ASAP.” Another joked that he resembled comic footage of Stephen A Smith a few years ago, adding: “I haven't seen hands this impressive since Stephen A Smith.”

“I like Logan but he has NEVER gotten better after all these years of boxing,” one fan wrote in a concerned message. “I would be surprised if he makes it to the fourth round.”
However, others were more complimentary, noting that he will enter the ring with a monstrous advantage over the Irishman. “It looks faster than the recent images of the Conor bag,” read one cute comment. “And before anyone says anything, yes, I am aware of the age difference.”
