Real Madrid started a new era this summer with the arrival of Xabi Alonso, and as part of this one of the former staff employees of Carlo Ancelotti has reduced his responsibilities.
The last season of Ancelotti as Real Madrid's manager was a big disappointment, but it was not helped by a catalog with injuries to important players. And there was also concerns about the fitness levels of players, where both problems fell under the jurisdiction of Antonio Pintus, who was the head of the club at the time.
Pintus received a lot of criticism last season and it was intended that Alonso did not have him as part of his coaching staff. But he was overwhelmed about the issue of Real Madrid President Florentino Perez, although this has not prevented the former head coach of Bayer Leverkusen to make changes.
As reported by Cadena SER, Alonso has taken away responsibilities from Pintus, who has been in Real Madrid for seven of the last nine years. He is no longer the head of the club, as confirmed by Antonio Romero.
“He is here with the expedition, but he has another job. He is no longer the physical trainer of the first team. We saw him in the area away from the players while they were working on the field. I am not going to say that it is not painting anything, but it doesn't paint much.”
“Xabi Alonso is a man with very clear ideas. Pintus was a presidential signing, and for that reason he stays in the expedition and does fieldwork, but he will not be much involved in the first team.”
In his first weeks, Alonso seems to lay down the law as a Real Madrid manager, and based on these developments, Pintus is one of the most affected by this.
