Lovren reveals what he REALLY thinks about Reds contract stand-off as exit near

Former Liverpool star and the good friend Dejan Lovren of Mohamed Salah has revealed his thoughts about the 32-year-old player's falsifying contract with the Reds.

The deal of the Egyptian with the current Premier League leaders is a continuous care among the fans of the club, because it is known that he can already sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign teams.

Moreover, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold also see that their contract ends at the end of the season.

Despite a stunning form this season with 21 goals and 13 assists in 23 Premier League matches, the deal of Salah remains a big talk point.

In an interview with Winwin, one of his good friends and former teammates Lovren revealed that he thinks that Liverpool Salah did not show enough respect during their negotiations.

He said: 'Salah believes that things are missing in the side of the club, and I hope it will be resolved soon. But the current reality is that he is closer to the departure than staying.

'I came to the conclusion that the club does not respect him enough, or not as much as he thinks he deserves it, but that is a different side of the conversation, it's all about what happens behind the scenes.

“He loves Liverpool, by the way, he loves Liverpool, and he wants to stay, and that is the most important part, perhaps he sees himself there.”

Lovren's claims come after Salah has hinted several times that this could be his last season in the shirt of the Reds after he had set out his wish to win a new Premier League title.

Last month, the 32-year-old attacker again emphasized that despite five months left over his deal, there is no progress in his negotiations with the club.

Even Liverpool boss Arne Slot, who enjoys his very first campaign with Salah, praised the player and suggests that he deserves to become an extraordinary football player.

After having spent six years together playing for the Reds, former teammate Lovren defended the Egyptian and said he wanted him to stay.

'Everyone wants him to stay, and I want that personally. I recently called him and said, “Mo, you have to think about yourself. Look at everything I have done for this club and what I am still able.”

Salah and Lovren stayed in contact as the departure of the defender to Zenit St. Petersburg in 2020.

The duo developed a strong relationship together for six years in Anfield, where the Croatian even congratulated the 32-year-old after his 100th goal for Liverpool in 2021.

Now the Egyptian has 237 goals in 383 games for the Reds and places himself in fourth place on the highest table with the highest Goerscorer.

“I think that despite these figures he doesn't get enough attention, because if it was Messi or Ronaldo, we would see every day talking about why his contract was not extended and why the right offer was not made to him,” Lovren added.

“I recently called him and said:” Mo, you have to think about yourself. Look at everything I have done for this club and what I am still capable of. '

The Croatian explained that the friendship started their shared passion for coffee after Salah asked him if he would like the drink at an airport.

Lovren now plays Paok in the Greek side. The former defender of Southampton and Lyon released seven performances this season, but is currently sidelined with an ankle injury.

When he interviewed if the Saudi Pro League could be a future option for Salah, he said: “If he leaves, yes, why not?! As you know, the Saudi competition starts to become more competitive.

“I think if Mo goes there, he will be one of the biggest stars, and it will be a huge marketing tree for the competition, and he will certainly attract some fans with him, so let's wait and see what happens.”

During the winter transfer window, it was revealed that the leaders of Saudi Aarabia wanted to bring the player and offer the player a stunning £ 65 million deal in two seasons.

In addition, Turki Alshikh -the Saudi chairman of the General Entertainment Authority -shared a photo of Salah in an AL -Hilal -Kit on his social media pages in December.

The competition champions have clearly shown interest, especially after the contract of Neymar – who later became a member of his boy's club Santos.

If the Egyptian decides to complete the move, he could join former European football stars such as Joao Cancelo, Ruben Neves and Kalidou Koulibaly.
