
A former Premier League star can stand in line to become the new manager of Blackburn.
The management position at the club is now empty after the shock news that John Eustace had left for relegation-divided Derby County last week.
Blackburn expressed their disappointment about Eustace's decision, but understood his desire to get closer to his family and to become a member of a club for which he played earlier.
Intermediate boss David Lowe has supervised 2-0 wins over West Brom and Plymouth since Eustace Sprong Schip, but the club is working on a permanent replacement.
And ex-Arsenale midfielder Luis Boa Morte is in the race to take the lead, according to the sun.
The report claims that the 47-year-old will have discussions with Ewood Park Chiefs in the near future.
Boa Morte is currently manager of the national team of Guinee-Bissau, who took the job last March after three years as Marco Silva's No 2 in Fulham.
The former Portugal International played for Arsenal, Southampton, West Ham United and Fulham, and scored 29 goals in 295 performances in the Premier League.
He won 28 international caps with Portugal, in particular representing the team at the 2006 World Cup where he made only one performance.
During his gaming career he also won the Premier League and the FA Cup with Arsenal, who played for the Gunners between 1997 and 1999 before he continued with Southampton.
After hung up his boots in 2013, the 46-year-old spells who worked as an assistant coach at Everton and Maccabi Haifa, while he also fulfilled reconnaissance roles with Arsenal.
His only earlier management experience was with Sintrense, where he took the lead over the Portuguese fourth division side for a few months in 2017.
He is not the only former top flight player who is being considered with George Boateng, another potential candidate. Liverpool -legend Steven Gerrard is a different name in the mix, while Wolves Baas Gary O'Neil is the favorite of the Bookmakers.
Blackburn is fifth in the championship and are on track to qualify for the play-offs.
