Luis de la Fuente confirms Pedri’s fresh Spain role

Barcelona -Superster Pedri has been chosen for praise by Spain -Baas de la Fuente prior to the final of the UEFA Nations League.

Pedri scored his very first competitive goal for Spain in the Wild 5-4 semi-final victory over France on June 5.

It ended for a long time on Pedri to find the net in a key competition for La Roja, but the goal is part of a broader recent photo for the playmaker born in Tenerife.

Teammate Fabian Ruiz has led the compliments for Pedri in the current Spain camp with the PSG star who labels him as 'incredibly important' for the plans of the La Fuente.

Pedri insured three major trophies with Barcelona in 2024/25 when Hansi Flick won a debut La Liga, Copa del Rey and Spanish Supercup Treble in Catalonia.

The 22-year-old was the heartbeat of Flick's team when he worked overtime to banish persistent concerns about injuries that started to derail his career.

Pedri played in 59 of the 60 matches of Barcelona in all competitions-the highest total in one season of his career in Barcelona and No. 1 in Flick's Squad in 2024/25.

He started besides Basque duo Mikel Merino and Martin Zubimendi against France, and despite the expected changes to Portugal's challenge, Pedri will be unmoved.

Prior to the confrontation with Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal, De la Fuente outlined how Pedri's game has evolved, with the 22-year-old now a guaranteed starter for Spain.

“Pedri has a special talent, if a no. 8 or as a no. 10. I would like him to play closer to the opposition box as goals are scored closer to the box. The key is also made there,” according to quotes from Mundo Deportivo.

“He contributes a lot to us. Because he can make the last passes, he completes patterns of play and he has improved a lot with his shooting.”
