Luis Enrique praised Paris Saint-Germain's desire and fighting spirit after they started the year with a 1-0 win over Monaco in the Trophee des Champions.
Ousmane Dembele sealed victory for the French champions in the second minute of stoppage time after PSG created 27 chances, including nine on target, without breaking the deadlock.
After 91 minutes and 28 seconds, Dembele scored the last winning goal in the Trophee des Champions since Alex in August 2013, also with PSG against Bordeaux (94 minutes and 30 seconds, 2-1 win).
They created 3.24 expected goals throughout the 90 minutes and also hit the woodwork as they had six 'big' chances and 46 touches in the opponent's penalty area.
“Today it was a very difficult match, against an opponent with very high quality players and many attacking players,” Luis Enrique told PSG TV.
“We had… moments of domination and moments of defensive suffering, but I think in the end the goal did justice to a team that never stops fighting, that never stops attacking, that doesn't stop running, that doesn't stop defending.
“I think it's something very positive and we should continue to appreciate it.”

PSG won a record-breaking 13th Trophee des Champions after playing Ligue 1 runners-up Monaco last season after winning both the league and the Coupe de France.
“Winning a title is always a source of joy,” added Luis Enrique.
“Starting 2025 this way, in an almost full stadium, with many Parisian supporters in it… it gives us confidence, it's important for morale, and we have to enjoy it before thinking about the future.
“With the game idea we have and the profile of our players, we must continue to grow as a team, to improve in every situation.”
PSG, who besides Serie A side Juventus are the only unbeaten teams left in the top five of European leagues this season, have not lost a single domestic match since May last year.
Their three defeats so far in the campaign have come in the Champions League.
