Luis Enrique looks to allay tensions with PSG dressing room
It was a turbulent week for Paris Saint-Germain. It started with the defeat against Bayern Munich (0-1) in the UEFA Champions League and then worsened when PSG drew against FC Nantes (1-1) in Ligue 1 on Saturday.
In the aftermath of the latter result, numerous reports emerged of unrest in the PSG dressing room. Ousmane Dembélé's relationship with Luis Enrique deteriorated, according to L'Équipe, Presnel Kimpembe became increasingly frustrated with his situation, as did Randal Kolo Muani, a player who was almost excluded from the first-team lineup. Even Luis Enrique's compatriot Fabián Ruiz became frustrated.
In short, a picture was painted and it was one of Luis Enrique losing his dressing room. RMC Sport understands that Luis Enrique spoke to his PSG players on Tuesday to ease growing tensions. In his speech to the team, he acknowledged that he had to “loosen the screw” on his demands and his management style, but he said it was also up to the team to make concessions.
It was a rapprochement that was well received by the PSG team, RMC Sport understands. Luis Enrique has been in contact with the hierarchy at the reigning Ligue 1 champions, and as stated both publicly and privately, the Spaniard retains the support of the most influential figures at the club.
