PSG Travel to Arsenal for the first stage of their Champions League Semi-Final on Tuesday evening, where Luis Enrique mentioned his traveling team on Monday for the game
Luis Enrique has called his 22-man team to get Arsenal on Tuesday evening in the first stage of their Champions League semi-final. The Ligue 1 champions travel to the Emirates Stadium in search of a place in the May final.
They have already passed Premier League champions Liverpool and Top Five Chasing Aston Villa came in the knockouts to reach this phase. The French side has already been defeated in a competition phase in a competition phase of the Gunners at the beginning of October.
Boss Enrique will be desperate on revenge to set up next week's return bone in the Parc des Princes. For the 2-0 defeat in October, Enrique surprisingly decided to leave Star attacker Ousmane Dembele from the team.
The Spaniard has since insisted that decision was the right one, despite losing the game. In a sign that Dembele has restored himself in the good books of his manager, the Frenchman, who has since been in remarkable form, flew to London and is expected to lead the attack in Paris – as he did against both Liverpool and Aston Villa.
PSG announced their 22-Man traveling team on Monday morning. The 22 members, together with the back room staff, flew from Charles de Gaulle Airport to London to London shortly before noon.
There were no surprising absence, with stars, including Dembele, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Nuno Mendes, Bradley Barcola and Joao Neves all on the plane. The team was acquitted on Sunday a day off before he met on Monday morning for their flight over the canal.
Although he has earned Enrique's confidence and scored more than 30 times in a season in his senior career in a season, France International Dembele is now in a series of six games without a goal in all competitions. Enrique has confirmed that he has injuries on his way to the most important match on Tuesday.
“All players are available and the same applies to Doué. We work on all aspects of the game, including set pieces, how else do you think I would have received my coaching license?” Said Enrique. “They are one of the best teams in Europe, and they have been doing a remarkable work with their coach for several years. We earn it all to be here. I like my team the most, that's why I am here. Some people will like Paris more, others Arsenal, it is part of life.
“Arsenal and PSG are similar. A team that can attack and defend together, with individuals at top level like us without being dependent. Is Arsenal the best team we have ever confronted? I don't know, it's hard to say.”
Enrique remains steadfast in his goal to finally bring the Champions League trophy to Paris. And despite the fact that the French side has a rocky history in printing situations, the PSG boss has faith in the ability of his team.
“The goal is to take another step after achieving the same phase of competition as last year. The goal is difficult to achieve. However, this pressure does not suffocate us; we are ambitious,” he added.
“When we say we are writing history, we're talking about something that nobody has done for us. The team has a lot of confidence, sometimes we are less brilliant, but that is part of life. On my days off I have seen that people convey positivity and want to see great performance.
“Has PSG never won the Champions League? Arsenal. We should not be stopped at the highest level; we have to keep that in mind, but be aimed at what we have to do.”
