Luis Enrique: PSG have ‘very ambitious’ plan to build on Champions League victory

Luis Enrique says that Paris Saint-Germain is “very ambitious” when he turns out to turn out of their dominance into more trophies.

PSG won the Treble last season and completed the Domestic season 2024-25 with their first Champions League triumph, which they sealed with a record-breaking 5-0 win over Inter.

They won the competition for the first time in their 168th competition, the most that each party has chosen to lift their first title in the Champions League.

After that victory, Luis Enrique said that he did not want PSG to leave their foot off the gas while he focused on glory at the club World Cup.

The French side are favorites to win the tournament, triumphing in 23.8% of the simulations of the Opta-Supercomputer, and they started to start strong and defeated Atletico Madrid in their opener.

And Luis Enrique outlined his vision of the future of the club, while he has to change their recent success into long -term dominance.

“We are European champions, nobody can take that from us, and I think we are a great European champion because our journey has been difficult,” Luis Enrique told reporters.

“But we are only in the beginning, the first steps of a team that wants to become dominant.

“Our goal is very, very ambitious. We have players and a club who want to keep winning, and we have fans who deserve many victories.

“It is very difficult to reach, because we already see that everyone is playing with a special motivation against us.

“So it's a very nice challenge for us. Everyone wants to play against us and beat us. Everyone speaks well about us, which is fun, but at the same time we try to improve, benefit from that trust.”

PSG is at the top of group B for their second club World Cup match against Botafogo, which takes place on Thursday in the Rose Bowl.
