Luis Enrique: PSG not overlooking Briochin in Coupe de France tie

Luis Enrique insisted that Paris Saint-Germain will not overlook their Coupe de France collision with the fourth levels of Side Stade Briochin on Wednesday.

Briochin has already demanded two remarkable scores on its way to the quarterfinals of the competition and reports Ligue 1-sides so far Nice and Le Havre.

PSG has already confronted with a strict test against the opposition of the lower competition and needs two late goals to defeat the fifth-layer Espaly 4-2 in the round of 32.

Of the last eight left in the competition, only four Ligue 1 -sides remain in Angers, Reims, Brest and PSG.

Although many will believe that the Parisiens will have one eye on their Champions League strop with Liverpool next week, Luis Enrique said that their full focus was on Briochin.

“If you look at the other teams in Ligue 1, most of them, more than half, are eliminated,” said manager Luis Enrique reporters prior to Wednesday.

“If you look at the matches against Espaly and Le Mans, we had to bury, especially against Espaly, so it's impossible to solve.

“Of course we hope that the field will enable us to play well. But we also have to bury tomorrow. We often see how the underdog comes at the top.

“Sometimes, in football, a team could win the game without attacks.”

PSG followed their impressive 10-0 aggregated victory over Brest in their Champions League knockout play-off draw with a 3-2 victory over Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday.

That result kept the unbeaten start of Luis Enrique in the French top flight, while he was also 13 points free from the second Marseille placed on top.

The Parisiens are confronted with Lille in the competition before they compete against Premier League leaders Liverpool in the Champions League, and Luis Enrique is convinced that his team can treat the busy schedule.

“The most important game is tomorrow. And there is also a general vision with the games that are going on the following month,” said Luis Enrique.

“Of course the plan can be changed. Because a player could play in this game, one player could play in one.

“We have many players who can play in different positions. So we can make those changes naturally.

“To perform at our best against Liverpool, we must have the right amount of playing time that goes in.”
