Luis Enrique: PSG will aim to ‘conquer the world’ after treble-winning season

Luis Enrique promised that Paris Saint-Germain “will try to conquer the football world” after the record-breaking Champions League victory of his team.

PSG finally ended their waiting for European glory on Saturday and did this in sensational style in Munich, while hammering Inter 5-0.

Goals of Achraf Hakimi, Desire Done, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu completed the course in an emphatic way, because Luis Enrique only became the second coach, after Pep Guardiola, to win the Treble with two different clubs.

Luis Enrique is indeed only the sixth coach who wins the Champions League with two different teams, and with the club World Cup for next season, he has set his sights on becoming the dominant power in world football.

“On my first day at PSG, when my French was even worse than now, I said my ultimate goal was to fill the trophy cabinet,” said Luis Enrique, as reported by athletics.

“The only trophy that was missing was the Champions League, and here we are.

“We checked that box, we were ambitious and we will continue to try to conquer the football world.

“It's great if you can make people you don't know happy.

“Our fans were 12th people on the field, the team reflects the supporters we have. I am so happy, don't know what else to say.”

Under teams in Europe's top five competitions in 2024-25, only Barcelona (174) scored more goals than PSG (152).

The Luis Enrique team leads first for expected goals (145.7), Non Penalty XG (137), Schoten (1,097), shots on Doel (458) and great opportunities (288).

Their focus will now focus on the club World Cup, with Atletico Madrid, Botafogo and the Seattle Sounders their opponents in the group stage.
