Luis Enrique: PSG’s Coupe de France triumph is perfect preparation for UCL final

Luis Enrique was pleased to have prepared himself in the final of the Champions League in an ideal way after Paris Saint-Germain De Coupe de France won.

A week before they are confronted with Inter in an attempt to win the first and long-sought-after European cup of the club, PSG made light work of Reims in a 3-0 win in the Stade de France.

PSG scored all their goals in the first half, with Bradley Barcola ran twice before Achraf Hakimi came on the action.

It means that PSG will now go to Munich hoping to boost a Treble.

“It was a very good match. We prepared in the best way in the 31st,” Luis Enrique told Bein Sports.

“This [Champions League] Final is important. We want to write history. We are ready. We are a real team and we want to get trophies.

“The final of the Champions League will be a special moment for everyone. There is no special preparation.

“We will be very busy, but we have to prepare ourselves in the best way. It is not easy to manage everything in the team.”

It was a routine victory for PSG, which had 20 shots and had built up 2.84 expected goals (XG) into Reims' 0.14.

Luis Enrique has now recorded the Interior Treble in the first two seasons in the club, a period in which PSG left the sides of the past lined with stars, a tactic that may lead them to their ultimate goal.

“We are a young team, but with experience, with the desire to know what we want to do on the field,” said Luis Enrique.

“We hope to celebrate the Champions League.”

Luis Enrique now only wants to become the second coach who wins a Treble of a competition title, large domestic trophy and the European Cup/Champions League with two different clubs, after Pep Guardiola.

“We have three of the four titles that we can win, and we are in the last step. I hope we can make PSG history,” he said reporters.

“The team showed a lot of dedication and everything that prepares us for the competition we expect, that will be decisive and that can enable us to write history.”
