Luis Enrique struggles to understand PSG’s ‘inexplicable’ draw against Nantes

Paris Saint-Germain is still at the top of Ligue 1 and will remain so, regardless of the result between Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco at the Vélodrome on Sunday evening. However, after their loss to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, it is clear that they are not in their richest form – an observation that was reaffirmed in PSG's 1-1 draw with FC Nantes on Saturday evening.

Despite taking the lead in the second minute of the match through Achraf Hakimi, Matthis Abline equalized before half-time and despite knocking on the door throughout, they could not find a way to restore their lead and ultimately had to settle take with a draw.

During a post-match press conference attended by Get French Football News, Luis Enrique struggled to understand the score. “It's inexplicable. In my management career I can't explain it. We have the best opportunity creation statistics of my entire management career. At some point I'll have to say I don't know. It's going to change; it can't continue like this. We will have to stop this run and change it. We had five clear chances,” said the Spaniard.

The PSG manager added that although the result against Nantes was “frustrating”, it was necessary to “stick to” the playing style they have adopted.
