Luka Modric to become an owner at Swansea City in bombshell move

Luka Modric will become a shock new minority owner in Swansea City, understands Walesonline.

The Croatian midfielder, 39, is still supposed to continue his playing career at Real Madrid, although his future in the Bernabeu is still in the air with his contract to get up this summer.

However, it seems that he has already made career movements off the field, although the news about his involvement with Swansea will clearly come as a huge shock. Register here with our Swansea City newsletter.

A deal for him to take a minority interest in the club has already been agreed and an announcement could be made in the coming hours.

It is believed that this movement has no influence on its ambitions to play, in which the midfielder believes that he is watching the World Cup 2026.

It is not entirely clear how much of a Ringmodric would last at this stage.

It is also not clear why the World Cup finalist has decided to be involved in the swans, who are the 12th in the championship table.

The move is the newest in a series of large shake-ups in the top echelons of the club.
