Real Madrid plays against Leganés without Vinicius JR, Jude Bellingham and David Alaba.
Only a few hours after the transfer window was closed, the upcoming plans of Real Madrid have taken a backseat, they have to deal with a full injury crisis.
David Alaba will miss two to three weeks after a left adductor injury in training. The Austrian defender won the field with discomfort and after undergoing medical tests this morning, the club confirmed the worst.
That means that no Copa del Rey bumps into Leganés, no Madrid Derby against Atlético, and no Champions League First-Leg Showdown with Manchester City. If he comes back in one way or another for the return bone, it would cost nothing less than a miracle.
And as if that wasn't bad enough, Antonio Rüdeliger is also not available, while Éder Militão remains offside. The backline of Real Madrid is officially in crisis mode.
All eyes on Tchouaméni and Asensio
Now that the defense was thinly stretched, the pressure now falls square on Tchouaméni and Asencio as “Rambo” (rüdeliger) in the treatment room with a hamstring injury. He is expected to be out for at least two weeks, making his return for the second stage against City in the Bernabéu very unlikely.
Carlo Ancelotti originally planned to illuminate Alaba back in the Line -Up, so he possibly gave minutes against Leganés – a small test for a much larger against Erling Haaland and Manchester City in the Etihad. Instead, Madrid is now confronted with five critical games without him. A big setback.
Vini JR and Bellingham Out – Are they injured?
As an addition to the worries, both Vinícius Jr. If Jude Bellingham absent in the training and they will probably be equipped in the cup. On paper it is just a day of rest. However, Ancelotti is expected to clarify their status in his press conference before the Copa del Rey.
But in the midst of all the bad news, there is one bright spot: Eduardo Camavinga. His hamstring injury is almost cured and after the start with the team with the team it is expected to be fit for Saturday's derby. Whether he gets minutes against Leganés remains uncertain, but his return is a much needed boost for the exhausted team of Ancelotti.
Jacobo Ramón awaits in the wings. Since Vallejo just has no chance to get on the field, it is now or never for the Canterano to make the step. Raúl's leader of the B-team has trained with the head team and wants to find a place in the backline while the A-list players are recovering.
Real Madrid's Copa del Rey Quarterfinal match against local rivals Leganés takes place in the Municipal Butarque Estadio on Wednesday 5 February at 3 p.m.
