Major European club ‘enters race for Rodrygo amid Arsenal and Al-Nassr interest’

PSG reportedly entered the race to sign Real Madrid star Rodrygo this summer.

The future of Rodrygo has been an important point of discussion in recent months after the Brazilian had endured a difficult campaign at the Bernabeu.

The attacker, 24, had developed into an integral player for Real since he came to the Brazilian side Santos in 2019 for € 45 million (£ 37.9 million), but he was further in the pecking order in 2024-25 after the arrival of Kylian Mbappe last summer.

Things seemed to come to a peak when he reportedly told the club that he never wanted to play for them again before he chose not to appear in El Clasico against Barcelona in May, with former real boss Carlo Ancelotti who does not choose him in a team after that game.

And despite the start of the first match of Los Blancos at the Club World Cup under the new manager Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo played another 27 minutes during the competition.

He is linked to both Arsenal and Al-Nassr this summer, but according to ESPN Brazil, PSG has now shown interest in the 33-CAP International.

The report claims that PSG contacted the representatives of Rodrygo in the midst of the constant uncertainty about his future.

PSG boss Luis Enrique is considered a big fan of the 24-year-old, although the interest in this stage has not continued.

The Parisians were connected to Rodrygo last summer and they want to build on the strong position they are this summer after winning the Champions League.

In the meantime, the interest in Rodrygo from Saudi Arabia would come about after it was reported that Cristiano Ronaldo Al-Nassr had personally insisted to make a movement for the Brazilian.

Al-Nassr Chiefs would have contacted the entourage of Rodrygo when Ronaldo took off the attacker as a priority objective.

Although Rodrygo, who is appreciated by Real at € 90 million (£ 77 million), may have a lower profile than colleague attackers Mbappe and Vinicius JNR, he still has a hugely impressive record at the Bernabeu.

The 24-year-old scored 68 goals and added 51 assists in 270 performances for Los Blancos, but it remains unclear what will happen.

Nonetheless, Alonso, who spoke for Real's victory in the last 16 of the club World Cup, said that Rodrygo has trained well, but also emphasizes that it remains his decision about who plays.

“After the game I try to approach everyone I meet on the way,” said Alonso. 'He had a few minutes [against Salzburg] who were important to him and he will be important.

'In these championships, sometimes those who start are just as important as those who come in. They can have a decisive impact, so every player must be prepared for everything their way comes. Everyone has a good attitude.

'Rodrygo trains well and I see him well. Then it's my decision that plays. '
