Mallorca make admirable gesture with fans for Supercup clash with Real Madrid

RCD Mallorca will participate in the Spanish Super Cup for the first time since 2003, and for the first time in the new competition format. They face Real Madrid in Jeddah on January 9, paying some of their fans to visit Saudi Arabia.

As reported by MD, Mallorca is organizing a competition in which members can participate, from which 35 will be chosen at random. They and one person of their choice will receive paid flights and airport transfers to Saudi Arabia, as well as tickets for the semi-final and final if Mallorca reaches them, although accommodation is not included. The draw starts on December 4 and fans have until Sunday, December 8 to submit their entry on the club website.

Los Bermellones reached the final of the Copa del Rey under Javier Aguirre and lost to Athletic Club on penalties. Since then, Jagoba Arrasate has joined the club and masterminded a 1-1 draw against Real Madrid in the opening game of the season.
