Man City agree to £50m deal for Porto star Nico Gonzalez as Pep Guardiola takes January transfer splurge to £177MILLION

Manchester City has reportedly agreed to sign Nico Gonzalez in a transfer of £ 50 million deadline from Porto.

Pep Guardiola has already splashed the money on three first team stars this month.

Abdukodir Khusanov participated in a £ 34 million step from RC -Lens, while the Brazilian teenage service travel completed a swap of Palmeiras.

And attacker Omar Marmoush became the most expensive signing of the window by the club when he led a transfer of £ 64 million to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Gonzalez officially came to Porto from Barcelona in 2023 and has since made 68 performances, scored nine goals and offered nine assists.

Guardiola admitted that his city players were “vulnerable” after their defeat against Arsenal on Sunday.

He said: “The feeling is why we did not do what we had done well in the last 20 or 25 minutes.

“Now we have to think and talk to the players and hope it doesn't happen anymore.

“It can be fragile because it happens so often. But we have the duty to learn and there are always margins to get better.

“It happened all season, we give away too many things, we know that this cannot happen, it happened.”
