Man City confirm £50m capture of Porto midfielder Gonzalez

Nico Gonzalez has become the fifth signing of Manchester City of the transfer star of January after completing a reported £ 50 million relocation from Porto on Monday.

Gonzalez follows Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov, Vitor Reis and Juma Bah through the doors in the Etihad Stadium while the champions want to save their season.

The 23-year-old works as a defensive midfielder and is an important area that Pep Guardiola has been identified to Bolster after losing Ballon d'Or winner Rodri for the rest of the campaign.

Gonzalez was a product from the Barcelona Academy, and made 37 first team performances for the Blaugrana before he completed a switch to Porto for the 2023-24 season.

He can be seen 68 times over all matches for Porto and has impressed the dragos while they are third in the Primeira League, eight points behind leaders with CP.

In the top of this term, no player has won more tackles for Porto than Gonzalez (19), while only Nehuen Perez (926) and Otavio (919) have completed more passes than the Spaniard (819).

Gonzalez was omitted from Porto's team on Monday for their 2-2 draw with Rio Ave and completed a medical medical in Portugal before relocating a move to the Premier League.

The first performance of Gonzalez for the club could come this weekend the FA Cup collision of FA Cup against Leyton Orient.
