Man City confirm ACL blow for Fowler as pressure mounts on Cushing

Manchester City has confirmed that Mary Fowler has torn her front cruciate ligament (ACL).

The 22-year-old sustained the injury during the 2-0 defeat against Rivals Manchester United in the Women's FA Cup Semi-final last weekend.

Fowler is now joining Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw, Vivianne Miedema, Alex Greenwood, Jill Roor and Lauren Hemp on the sidelines for City, while supporting injuries for interim boss Nick Cushing.

The Australian International had scored seven goals and provided eight assists during 25 performances in all competitions for City, which are fourth in the Women's Super League, seven points on Drift of Man Utd in third place.

Fowler will now start with the long recovery process and a club statement confirmed that she would stay in the club to edit their medical staff.
