MANCHESTER CITY have confirmed that one of their supporters was killed during yesterday's match against Manchester United.
City confirmed the tragic news on social media and sent wishes to the supporter's friends and family.
A short statement on X read: “Manchester City is aware of the tragic news that one of our supporters has passed away following a medical incident during yesterday's match.
“The thoughts of everyone at the club are with their family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
Several supporters responded to the post with their own well wishes.
One wrote: “Sending my condolences to the supporter's family.”
While a second said: “Rest in peace… God's comfort to his family and friends.”
A third added: “My thoughts and prayers are with the family.”
City lost the match 2–1, despite holding a large share of the lead.
Josko Gvardiol's header in the 36th minute seemed to be the winner.
Bruno Fernandes equalized for United from the penalty spot in the 88th minute after Amad Diallo was brought down by Matheus Nunes in the penalty area.
Diallo then scored a 90th minute winner.
