Man City in line for transfer windfall as star targeted for summer switch

The future of Wolves Tommy Doyle's midfielder has been questioned in Molineux and Manchester City by a potential transfer agreement thanks to a sales clause

Manchester City is standing in line this summer for a part of the transfer gain, while Tommy Doyle is closer to the starting door at Wolves Randt. Earlier this week the boss of Wolves Pereira revealed that at the end of the season he will hold Crunch conversations with Doyle in the midst of a lack of playing time.

The 23-year-old midfielder moved to Molineux in a £ 4.3 million deal last July after a successful loan spell under Gary O'Neil. City has sold out a 50 percent clause and can also buy the player back, although that is unlikely that will happen.

Sheffield United is supposed to be a list of clubs that want Doyle, but every deal can still purchase promotion, since the knives are preparing for the play-offs of the championship.

The former English Youth Starlet, who won the U21 European Championships under Lee Carsley in 2023, was a big hit on loan in Bramall Lane during the 2022-23 campaign when Sheffield United Promotion won and also reached the FA Cup semi-final.

Doyle has only made one start in the Premier League since the arrival of Pereira, who has indicated that he does not feel that the player fits his system.

Pereira said: “I usually have a conversation with the players at the end of a season to understand if I have a conversation with a player and they say they are not happy because they want to play, and I cannot guarantee that they will play many games next season, then this is a decision.

“It is not a decision on my part or the side of the club, it is a conversation between the coach, the club and the player to decide.

“I believe we can't be in a place if we are not happy because we cannot be ourselves. You have to have players here with their minds and heart here, luckily, because they feel this happiness inside.”

In the meantime, Wolves Vrorely try to bind the club captain Nelson Semedo to a new contract.

His current deal will end at the end of June and his former side Benfica is supposed to be in the mix for his signature. Semedo has spent five years in Molineux and is highly appreciated by Boss Pereira.

Matheus Cunha, however, comes closer to the starting door while Manchester United looks ready to activate his £ 62.5 million release clause that will be active this summer.

The representatives of Cunha have already held positive discussions with United and it is expected that the conversations will continue in the coming weeks.

Newcastle had also looked at the Brazilian, but the Red Devils are now leading the leadership for the 25-year-old attacker.
