According to a report from The Athletic, Manchester City will “intensify their efforts” to sign Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens this winter.
The Premier League side are on a three-match unbeaten run but suffered terrible form for much of November and December, winning two games in fourteen games in all competitions.
Manchester City are looking for answers and will turn to the transfer market to strengthen their squad for the second half of the season. In defense, the club wants to use Khusanov, who has had a breakthrough season for Lens.
The defender joined the team as a ready-made replacement for Kevin Danso (26), who was expected to leave in the summer. However, Danso's departure backfired at the last second when he failed his Roma medical treatment.
The Athletic writes that Manchester City has not reached an agreement with Lens, but talks are progressing.
